Pictures posted here

This year's Day Camp was a huge success with a record number of Cub Scouts in attendance! Nestled on the banks of the Eno River, Cub Scouts enjoyed the fun and adventure Scouting has to offer!

Day Camp participated in several service projects throughout the week.
-          Raising Funds for Nothing But Nets (visit www.nothingbutnets.net for details)
-          Over 200 lbs of food donations were given to Urban Ministries
-          Donations were given to the APS – Animal Protection Society of Durham
-          Park Clean-Up practicing Leave No Trace Front Country Guidelines

The dates for next year's Day Camp have been set, and the Directors are already hard at work planning a great adventure! Mark your calendars for June 13 th – 17th 2010! We’ll see you there!

Camp Directors Krista Johnson and Heather Harden would like to take this opportunity to recognize and show appreciation to everyone involved in the 2010 Mawat District Cub Scout Day Camp.

-  Special thanks to all of the adult volunteers that dedicated their time to Day Camp this year! The program could not survive without you and you are an integral part of its success.
-  We are especially proud of our staff of Den Chiefs, Den Helpers and Camp Staff represented by the Boy Scouts of Mawat District. These incredible young men exemplified the meaning of being a Scout. They earned service hours, and most importantly, admiration from the Cub Scouts during the entire week. Each and every Scout (our trusted “purple shirts”) should be proud of how they represented themselves, their Troops, and their families with their hard work and dedication to Scouting and FUN!
-  Many thanks to the parents for the generous donations of snacks, drinks and water throughout camp! Your dedication and appreciation to your son’s Scouting activities is one of the most beneficial rewards they are given.
-  Sincere appreciation to the following Cub Scout Packs for their amazing dedication of time and supplies for this years’ camp. Pack 411, Pack 486, and Pack 495. Our Scouting community in Mawat district remains strong and we appreciate everything that they were able to do for us.
-  Special recognition to the following individuals who’s assistance, dedication, and down right, hard work proved to be the example of Scouting in its finest form. - “A Scout is Helpful” - amongst many other amazing things!
Aaron Rumsey, Andrew Wilkins, Anthony Perry, Bill Robbins, Bob Radcliff, Davis Tapp, Greg Parrott, Hank Kistler, Henry Kistler, James Muse, Jen Hiemenz, John Bolles, Kevin Pusack, Kevin Rumsey, Larry Lloyd, Mason Brooks, Mark Lambros, Maury Cupitt, Rich Barbee, Scott Gibson, Steve Wilkins, and Thomas Beach. As well as the Parkwood Volunteer Fire Department, Triangle Presbyterian Church and members of Mawat District Commissioners’ Cabinet.
